Short But Sweet

Rather like this Aloe, a gift from Otahal ... he swears it attracts hummingbirds at his farm like no other plant when in bloom ... and there are hummingbirds aplenty right now, so it surely would be lovely if it were blooming so we could see ... [INTERJECTION from the Head Gardener: Get to the point, James Joyce!]  And that point would be: we finally got rain, although as happens too often, it was a disappointingly brief interlude rather than an extended visit.   At least the pots are watered for today.

Sorry about the brief rain, but be patient--it's raining here as I type, such a welcome sound!

I posted a short review yesterday of "Interred With Their Bones"--thanks so much for recommending it to me, Cindy; I really enjoyed it. And by the way, your writing is much more enjoyable to read--and less confusing--than Joyce's:)

My grandmother has this aloe in her yard and it does attract hummingbirdas! Give it plenty of room. You'll have baby plants popping up in no time!

Rose, thank you for your kind words! I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. I'll keep you in mind if I find other such novels.

Mary, I already potted up a couple of babies that came off the mother plant. I've got plenty of room for more!
