Rather like this Aloe, a gift from Otahal ... he swears it attracts hummingbirds at his farm like no other plant when in bloom ... and there are hummingbirds aplenty right now, so it surely would be lovely if it were blooming so we could see ... [INTERJECTION from the Head Gardener: Get to the point, James Joyce!] And that point would be: we finally got rain, although as happens too often, it was a disappointingly brief interlude rather than an extended visit. At least the pots are watered for today.
