Amy's Crinum Is Open!

When my late friend Amy gave me this Crinum years ago, she identified it as Crinum rattrayi, which I later learned is a subspecies/variation of C. jagus. However, I believe it must be a different species: the flowers on C. jagus var. rattrayii are pure white, without the faint pink stripe, and the petals aren't as curved.

I'm going to e-mail Marcelle Shephard of Marcelle's Crinums, and see which Crinum she thinks it is. If any of y'all recognize it, though, please let me know!

Nice photo of a very nice crinum! It's wonderful to have plants from friends who have passed - keeps the memory alive...
I don't know which it is, but it is lovely! It seems like it's been a wonderful year for them.

Cyndy, I treasure each and every plant that Amy gave me for that reason.

Elizabeth, dang, I was hoping you might know. I'm feeling the need to plant more Crinums. Perhaps Bulb Mart will have a good selection!
