You Might Wonder ...

Organic Mechanics Garden, Tenderloin District, San Francisco
Y'all know how I love rusty stuff ... were I not an honest & upstanding citizen of this planet who knows that karma will get you somehow, somewhere, I'd have smuggled this out!
Why I haven't posted anything yet about the Garden Bloggers' Fling in San Francisco ... can we blame it on my heat-addled brain?  Far from being the fabulously cool escape envisioned, the Bay Area was suffering from an unseemly heat wave during my time there.  I am beginning to feel like something of a jinx when it comes to temperature.

Three views of the chaotic and colorful Keeyla Meadows garden ...
oh, to have the courage to be so bold!
How about blaming it on sensory overload ... being overwhelmed by so many amazingdelightfulwonderful charmingeclecticeccentric beautifulincrediblefantastic awesomephenomenal inspiring gardens?

Garden bloggers take in the view from the upper deck of the Matt Gil Sculpture Garden
(that's a freeway in the background)
Or we could blame it on being in the company of so many fellow garden fanatics?

Looking out towards the bay from The Wave Garden
A view from the Dudan Garden
Filoli
I could blame it on the fabulous views ...

A pond in the Nichols garden

Just one lush corner of the back gardens at Anne Nichols' fabulous home

Succulent plantings in the Nichols Garden
Or the staggering diversity of plantings?

Sunset Magazine Demonstration Gardens

Oh, hay-ull, let's blame it on all of the above!

I'd definitely blame it on sensory overload! Other than some photos on Facebook, I haven't seen too many posts on this year's Fling. From what I have seen, though, it looks like you all saw so much, that trying to sort out photos must have been overwhelming. What a fantastic few days you must have had!

Sensory overload indeed! Plus I think maybe we saw more gardens in S.F. than at other Flings? It seemed so, anyway. I'm still working my way through my own photos.

These are some fantastic gardens. I like that first 'rust' shot a lot. We need more garden sculpture artists here in Texas to make some home grown art like this. I'm trying to think if I've ever heard of anyone locally who does this.
Yes, be bold!

It was a lot to take in, and if you were hoping for an escape from the heat, well...it wasn't that. I posted about my favorites, and then did a couple of cool pictures posts, and that's it. I don't think it's necessary for everyone to post about everything. But I do like getting others' perspectives.

I think I'm in the same situation. Plus July and August are crazy insane months for me and I kind of like knowing there's sunshine and cool plants waiting for me to discover all over again soon...
Looks like you posted! :-) sensory overload indeed.
Sounds wonderful - now I'm jealous!

Yes, sensory overload both at Fling and back at home! I love your views of it all. Wish I'd seen you more but it was indeed sensory on steroids!

My climate is nothing like SF - but I am loving getting to visit all those gardens with you - virtually, although I HOPE I'll be at the next Fling to be overwhelmed in person.

Don't worry Cindy - I still have posts I want to write about Seattle!

It would have been great to see you again - next year hopefully :)
